About Henry VIII on Tour: The Kings Royal Progress of 1541, Kate Giles - Markenfield Hall
Professor Kate Giles is a buildings archaeologist with a special interest in communal buildings of the medieval and modern periods. Kate has previously spoken at Markenfield on The Middleham Jewel and The Wall Paintings of Pickering Church. A Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and Trustees of York Civic Trust, her book on the Wall paintings at Pickering Church won the Historians of British Art award in 2024.
