Rodrigos Concierto de Aranjuez, performed by guitarist Chris Godhard, takes centre stage. Named after the famous royal site near Madrid, and brought to great popularity in the UK in the film Brassed Off, the concertos melodies evoke the perfume of magnolias, the singing of birds and the gush of fountains. Kodalys pastoral Summer Evening, Ravels nostalgic Pavane pour une Infante Defunte and Poulencs light-hearted Sinfonietta complete the programme.
