Catch the 21 bus from Knaresborough bus station for the 40-minute journey to Boroughbridge. Settle into a comfy seat and take in the views as the bus goes along country lanes and through pretty villages. Spend your morning exploring this market town starting at the quaint Butter Market Museum with its display of local artefacts. Meander along the streets with their mix of Regency, Georgian and Victorian architecture and don’t miss St James Square surrounded by old buildings with the ornate Market Well at its centre. The Devil’s Arrows

Visit the mysterious Neolithic standing stones known as the Devil’s Arrows on the edge of Boroughbridge. These three impressive standing stones are a testament to the distant past and the people who used to inhabit this part of North Yorkshire. As you approach the stones, two of which are in an open field with the third stone, the tallest, on the opposite side of the road, there is a real sense of mystical energy. Retrace your steps back to the town centre to catch the bus back to Knaresborough.
