About Skipton Choral Society: Passion Music - Voices and Jazz - Skipton Town Hall

Skipton Choral Society is joined by a live jazz band for an evocative spring concert of powerful choral music infused with the energy and colour of jazz.

Will Todds Passion Music forms the centrepiece of the programme, a compelling and deeply expressive work that blends classical choral writing with gospel influence and jazz-inspired rhythm to tell the Passion story in a vivid and contemporary way. The concert also includes Todds Three Jazz Hymns, vibrant reworkings of well-loved hymn texts, full of warmth, swing and rich harmony. Robert Webb has Skipton Choral Society in fine voice following a strong season of performances, and the collaboration with an accomplished jazz band brings a fresh, uplifting sound to the spring repertoire. If choral music with a modern edge and the excitement of live jazz is what youre looking for, be sure to book early for what promises to be a memorable evening.
