About Matilda Lloyd and the Goldmund Quartet - Old Swan Hotel
Described by BBC Music Magazine as a “trumpeter extraordinaire,” Matilda Lloyd is redefining her instrument on the world stage. In 2025/26, she performs Helen Grime’s Trumpet Concerto with BBC NOW, Staatstheater Meiningen and the Lithuanian National Symphony, debuts in Korea and Japan, and appears with Ulster Orchestra and Bergen Philharmonic. An ECHO Rising Star, Matilda has played Europe’s leading venues and is Professor of Trumpet at Trinity Laban.
Praised for their “exquisite playing” and “multi-layered homogeneity” by Süddeutsche Zeitung, the Goldmund Quartet inspires audiences worldwide with its inwardness, unbelievably fine intonation, and phrases worked out down to the smallest detail. These qualities have led to some of the finest interpretations of both classical and contemporary chamber music repertoire.
