Piece Together - Woodend Gallery and Studios

Piece Together is an international exhibition of contemporary mosaics curated by the British Association for Modern Mosaic (BAMM). This vibrant showcase is part of the 2025 BAMM Forum.

Featuring 64 original mosaic works, the exhibition brings together artists from the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the United States, each creating pieces especially for this venue. The theme of collaboration runs throughout the exhibition, with many artists working together or exchanging materials to explore new techniques and ideas. A number of the mosaics are available to purchase.

In addition, there is a special display of project ephemera from the collaboration between Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller and artist Coralie Turpin. Working alongside local communities, environmentalists, and archaeologists, they created a permanent public mosaic installation on Scarborough Sea Front. Inspired by Scarborough’s Roman past and the wealth of wildlife in the sea locally, the piece – ‘Roman Mosaic c.2025’ – is part of a new Sea Watching Station on Marine Drive. It was commissioned by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and art/climate organisation Invisible Dust as part of the Wild Eye programme, led by curator Jeanine Griffin.
