About Barbara - Masham Town Hall

"Barbara are so up my street... really tight songwriting, very poptastic! - Neil Hannon (The Divine Comedy)
Barbara are wonderful. I love their songs and their humour. We need more Barbara in our lives! - Chris Difford (Squeeze)

Taking their lead musically from an eclectic set of influences that range from Glam Pop to Broadway, Barbara make classic, irresistible pop music with a literary and intellectual approach. Whilst the influence on the music is noticeably American, Barbara's lyrics are quintessentially British, infused with the inquisitive, satirical spirit of George Orwell and Ray Davies.

In 2022, Barbara were handpicked by Neil Hannon to support The Divine Comedy on their UK tour, and a year later they played fourteen shows in support of Haircut One Hundred. Last year they appeared as special guests of Paul Weller on his sold out UK tour, including his flagship gig at Edinburgh Castle.
