About The Forum at Fifty

Join us as we celebrate fifty years of the Forum entertaining the local community and beyond! The Forum was opened 50 years ago on the 28th November 1975. To celebrate, we are throwing a The Forum at Fifty celebration this September! We will be joined by many of our regular performance groups who have supported us throughout the years in a very special variety show. The evening will be compered by David Harper, last seen on the Forum stage for his shows A Romp with the Georgians and Unexpected Tales. The Forum is very proud to have been at the centre of Northallerton’s community since 1975, providing cinema, comedy, live music, shows, musicals and event space for the local community to use and enjoy. What a lot of people don’t know that The Forum is a charity run by volunteers that receives no government funding or support, so it relies on sponsorship, fundraising and donations to keep it going.Buying your ticket for this event will contribute to our amazing goal to raise £140,000 for new movable seating for over 300 visitors, providing a comfortable seat for the next 50 years as well as a range of other projects to keep The Forum safe and operational.Your financial support is so important to us as a local charity and any raffle prizes or donations would be gratefully received.Performing groups:Crash Bang Wallop Youth Theatre CompanyNorthallerton Musical Theatre CompanyTom Rolfe ProductionsThe Allerton PlayersNorthallerton Male Voice ChoirEnvisage DanceNorthallerton Amateur Variety CompanyAlan Owens and the Forum BandWith a special guest compere BBC Antiques Road Trip and Bargain Hunt's David Harper! We would like to thank all the groups involved for donating their time. And we are thankful to Northallerton & District Flower Club for showcasing their gorgeous floral arrangements on display around The Forum during our Anniversary show. Also, thanks to Freedom Discos, Sound & Lighting for donating their time to tech the show. This show has been arranged with support from the cultural team at North Yorkshire Council. We will also have an exhibition displaying the history of the Forum in the foyer throughout September.Don’t miss out on this golden celebration of Northallerton talent and help us celebrate this momentous occasion for our charity!
