May Half Term at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal

This May half term it's all about birds and nature at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal.Head to the bird hide, just 2 minutes from the main visitor centre, to explore and discover the different birds that live in these trees. Look up into the deep green canopies, how many papier-mâché birds you can spot? Do they match the birds on your spotter sheet? The papier-mâché birds have been made by Henshaws, a local charity based in Knaresborough.On Wednesday 28 May, head to Swanley Workshop between 10am and 2.30pm to meet Henshaws and start crafting your bird decoration. Use the materials provided to cut and decorate your bird, then take it home with you to hand in your indoor or outdoor spaces.Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal is an outdoor site. Sturdy footwear will help with uneven ground and steep hills and warm clothes and waterproofs might be a good idea too.Head to the visitor centre to start your adventure, the bird hide is just 2 minutes away.
