About A Night at the Folk Club! with the Blow-Ins, Ukrainian Choir, Lynda Hardcastle and Alan Rose

Join us for A Night at the Folk Club! We are delighted to welcome these wonderful talents who will perform for us in the magical historic setting of St Mary's Church.Lynda Hardcastle and Alan Rose met in 1974, and began singing together immediately. Over the intervening decades they have collaborated with other artists, most notably Lynda being one third of the acclaimed harmony trio Grace Notes, but their duo work has always been important. They sing traditional and contemporary folk songs, sometimes with guitar accompaniment, usually in harmony. Their infectious delight in singing always makes an audience smile. The Ukrainian choir is a small vocal ensemble of women celebrating their culture here in Scarborough. Expect beautiful harmonies as they share traditional folk and other songs, previewing a song of blessing and celebration which will be taught on 31 May in a workshop as part of Scarborough Streets Festival. The Blow-ins are increasingly well-known in Scarborough and beyond, bringing their unique blend of Celtic Harp, guitar and voices to original music and songs as well as traditional folk. Their work has been described as mesmerising, exquisite, soul food. The Blow-ins will take you on a musical journey encompassing delicious instrumentals and songs of history, passion, protest and love with gentle humour and a generous helping of joy.A Pay What You Feel Event, booking recommended.Book your ticket here or come along and pay on the door.
