About Forging History: a WW1 Farrier at Work - The Green Howards Museum
Known across Ryedale as The Fadmoor Farrier, Jarvis has been plying his trade for over three decades, combining expert craftsmanship with sharp Yorkshire wit. With his trademark beard and a wealth of stories, he offers more than just a demonstration, expect sparks, humour, and a fascinating glimpse into the vital wartime role of the farrier.
This is a rare opportunity to see traditional blacksmithing skills in action, just as they would have been used on the Western Front. This event runs alongside our special exhibition ‘Animal Allies’.
