About Meeting Ourselves: Exploring Human Spirit Through Puppetry - Sowerby Parochial Hall

This exciting event will include a puppetry performance from award-winning puppeteer Ester Natzijl plus a Q&A and workshop with her, and refreshments.

Ester's work focuses on multi-disciplinary theatre combining dance, drama and puppetry. It expresses the universal, timeless and psychological concepts of inner struggle, illusion, identity and the search for meaning. Her performances visualise hope, strength and perseverance. It will be a welcoming and inspiring afternoon.

In the workshop Ester will teach participants some basic puppetry techniques and demonstrate its potential magic. She will also show you how a puppet can be both a mirror and a representation of your many selves. A puppet can evoke and express deep thoughts and feelings from inside, as well as bring out your cheekiest and most playful side. There will also be opportunity to practise working with hand puppets and puppets made from everyday objects.
