The Politics of Pudding; a talk by Pen Vogler - Ryedale Folk Museum

About The Politics of Pudding; a talk by Pen Vogler - Ryedale Folk Museum
Introduced by local author and Country Living feature-writer, Sally Coulthard, Pen’s tantalising talk will explore local food and drink, including Yorkshire’s cheeses, bakes and puddings – and not forgetting beer and tea. Join us to discover why local varieties – including some of our most iconic Yorkshire dishes – are not just curiosities, but intrinsically linked to our politics and health. Because food is much more than a matter of taste.
Pen Vogler has written recipe books inspired by Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, has a regular food column in The New Statesman, and gives frequent media interviews about contemporary and historic issues in food. Tickets are available to buy online at £8.00. A discount of £5.00 will be given, per ticket bought, on either of Pen’s book titles (Scoff and Stuffed) when purchased on the day.
