About Watercolour Inks and More! Course - The Station

Monday 30th June, 7th, 14th and 21st July 2025, 10am - 12:30pm

A playful approach to watercolour inks and much more! This course is for people who have tried watercolour and / or watercolour inks, who would like to further develop their paintings and explore introducing a variety of mixed media techniques. Over a course of four sessions, local artist Jaci Stroud will support you to develop your unique style of painting, with tips, tricks, and the opportunity to explore a variety of techniques and materials. Each session with have an introductory acitivity and individual support.

All materials are provided, and you can work at your own pace in this relaxed class.

Week 1: Using watercolour inks to create a range of experimental backgrounds. Tips and suggestions how to control inks for your desired effect to create paintings.

Week 2: Explore the properties and use of other media e.g. soft pastels, charcoal and acrylic on a range of surfaces. Playfully mix and match different media to create a painting.

Weeks 3 and 4: Composition ideas. Creating your paintings from still life and / or photographs to develop your final piece or pieces of art. The use of colour combinations - try breaking your own artistic rules!

Jaci was a finalist in the competition ‘Sketch for Survival’ 2024. She is inspired by our beautiful natural world - from elephants to peonies.
