About The Musical Threads of The Silk Roads - Skipton Town Hall

Driven by his passion for modal music, musicianIbantuta traveled across 12 countries along the ancient Silk Roads, collaborating with nearly 40 musicians playing traditional string instruments. The Oud serves as the traveler's guiding thread, helping him navigate the labyrinth of sonic and visual landscapes of China, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

This journey gave birth to"Musical Threads of the Silk Roads", a vibrant album that pays tribute to millennia-old musical traditions.

This global project also includes a series of music videos capturing the beauty of the places where this music came to life, as well as short films revealing the cultural richness and contemporary relevance of these Eastern legacies.

Today, Ibantuta offers an immersive and captivating solo film-concert, blending the evocative power of his Oud with striking visual projections filmed during his journey. More than just a concert, it is a sensory and emotional experience a true bridge between tradition and modernity.

"Here, it is all about kindness, dedication, talent, and gratitude. And about a new way of fostering social connection along humanity's ancient paths." Denis Laborde - Director of Haizebegi Worlds of Music Festival (France)
