About Young Musician: Charlotte Spruit - Wesley Centre

Charlotte Spruit is a Dutch violinist known for her expressive performances as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has played at major venues including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore Hall in London, and with orchestras such as the Residentie Orkest, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic, and Ensemble Esperanza.

Charlotte enjoys exploring creative ways to connect with audiences, including collaborations that combine music with visual art. In 2022, she and artist Jérémie Queyras won a prize for their multidisciplinary performance at the Goodmesh Concours. The morning concert opens with Beethoven’s final violin sonata, the gentle yet noble Sonata No. 10 in G major, Op. 96 followed by Schumann’s passionate Violin Sonata No. 2 in D minor, Op. 121, known for its emotional intensity and sweeping romantic lines. This thoughtfully paired program offers listeners a journey from Beethoven’s refined classicism to Schumann’s rich expressiveness-a morning not to be missed by lovers of chamber music.

Accompanied by Angus Webster

The concert will last c.60 minutes with no interval.
