Gigs at Gaia: Ahmed Dickinson - St Wilfrid's Church

Ahmed Dickinson is a renowned Cuban classical guitarist, celebrated for his skill and passion. A graduate of Havana’s Superior Institute of Art, Dickinson has performed at prestigious venues such as London’s Wigmore Hall and King’s Place.

Join us for an unforgettable concert featuring a mix of classical and contemporary guitar music from around the world. The evening will open with Heitor Villa-Lobos’ Five Preludes, a set of beautiful and expressive pieces that capture the Brazilian composer’s unique style. Additionally, Dickinson will perform Eduardo Martín’s Songs of the Calendar, blending Cuban rhythms with classical elements, before closing with Carlo Domeniconi’s Koyumbaba, a vibrant and rhythmic piece inspired by Brazil. This concert promises a captivating journey through music, expertly delivered by one of the leading guitarists of his generation.
