About Scarborough Symphony Orchestra's July Concert - Queen Street Methodist Central Hall
Fate Now Conquers
EDWARD GREGSON
Trumpet Concerto
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN
Symphony No.7
Our final concert introduces our audience to the uniquely talented composer, Carlos Simon. His work, Fate Now Conquers, is based on the harmonic structure of the second movement of Beethoven's Symphony No.7 and is an exciting fanfare-like work with a haunting cello solo at its centre.
We are proud to welcome back our principal trumpet, Richard Wood to perform Edward Gregson's spectacular Trumpet Concerto. Fireworks promised!
Fittingly, we close the season in glorious style with that most popular of Beethoven's symphonies, the seventh.
Tickets will also be available at Queen Street, on the night.
