About Skell Gardens Cottage

A stylish 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom 1850's cottage which sleeps 4 with its own garden, parking for 2 cars & views across rooftops of the impressive west front of the Cathedral, all located 3 minutes walk from the centre of Ripon.

A lovingly restored cottage

An 1850s cottage in a conservation area that retains much of its original character whilst ensuring all modern-day comforts are met. Providing Cathedral views and a central but private location it offers a superb base to explore Ripon and the wider area.

Enter the cottage via a boot room, affording easy access with luggage and a place for coats and boots. Just beyond is a ground floor toilet and wet room with a spacious waterfall shower.

The bright kitchen with traditional features also has all the modern essentials. Cosy up on colder evenings by the log burner in the relaxing lounge. With an east-west aspect, Skell Gardens Cottager benefits from both morning and evening light, adding to the ambience at any time of year. Switch on your favourite shows or catch up on the smart TV. An eclectic mix of books offers quieter escapism.

There are two bedrooms on the first floor. The larger one has a super king bed, which can be made up as two twin beds on request. The other room has a double bed and walk-in wardrobe.

A stunning Burlington bathroom provides modern day convenience with timeless tradition.

A beautiful private garden

Secluded with private parking for two cars, the garden provides a peaceful oasis surrounded by romantic planting. The seating area is a sun trap for most of the day and the summerhouse provides shade or a garden retreat.

Historic Ripon on your doorstep

The third smallest City in England, Ripon retains long observed traditions; you are three minutes' walk to the 1000 year old market square via Duck Hill where once stood a corn mill. Visit the popular weekly Thursday market. From the four corners of the square are a great number of independent shops and eateries.

Leave the car and explore walks along the three rivers and Ripon Canal. Just 3 miles away via the river Skell is the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden.

Learn more about the city by following the blue and green plaque walks or visiting the Law and Order Museums – all within easy walking distance from the cottage.
