Prospect House Farm is a peaceful escape on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, perfectly placed for the Yorkshire coast, Scarborough, and miles of open countryside. We invite all guests to slow down, breathe deeply, and enjoy relaxed breaks surrounded by nature.

Glamping

Our luxury woodland Glamping Cabins offer the perfect year-round retreat for couples seeking comfort, privacy, and a little indulgence. Each cabin includes a private hot tub, countryside views drifting out to sea, and access to some of the darkest skies in the world for unforgettable stargazing.

Cocoon yourself in a warm, quiet, unhurried space designed for true relaxation, with every amenity ready for you and your favourite person. Perfect for milestone celebrations, birthdays, mini-moons, honeymoons, engagements, and any other reason you can find to discover the art of being lazy on the North Yorkshire Coast.

Location

Set within the North York Moors National Park and proudly part of an International Dark Sky Reserve — one of only 21 in the world — Prospect House Farm offers scenery, wildlife, and star-filled skies that take your breath away. On the luckiest nights, you might even glimpse the Northern Lights.

A bridleway runs through the farm, giving instant access to beautiful walks and cycling routes. Wander through woodland, stroll to Scalby Village for a pub lunch, join the Cleveland Way, or hop onto the National Cycle Network routes.

Scarborough’s seafront is just 15 minutes away, with Whitby, Bridlington, and the charming coastal villages all within an easy drive.

Camping

Our spacious Camping and Camper Van site is ideal for families, couples, and solo travellers seeking a simple, peaceful coastal break. With generous pitches, fresh air for days, and no pressure to rush, it’s a place to wake to birdsong, watch the sunset, and embrace the joy of taking things slow.

Campfires aren’t just allowed — they’re encouraged. Nothing beats roasting marshmallows and telling stories under the stars.

Guests enjoy a calm, friendly atmosphere with thoughtful facilities designed to make stays easy and enjoyable. The camping fields are safe and spacious, with a car-free tent field so children can play freely. There’s a small playground and plenty of wildlife to inspire even the most curious young adventurers.

Enjoy our popular pizza nights and the convenience of an on-site, licensed shop stocked with essentials, treats, and locally sourced beers and wines.

Facilities include: electric hook-ups, waste disposal, recycling points, fire pit hire, toilets and showers, and drinking water points.

Farming

We stay true to our roots — the farm remains a working dairy farm with a small equestrian centre, keeping the love of the land at the heart of everything we do. Our diversification into Camping and Glamping sits proudly alongside our farming heritage.

We sell our milk on site through a vending machine offering over twelve milkshake flavours, and we’re proud to supply our local supermarket with fresh milk straight from the farm.

The Experience

Guests love the peaceful atmosphere across the farm — no loud groups, no late-night noise, just fresh air, wildlife, and space to breathe.

As a family-run dairy farm and equestrian centre, we care deeply about the land and the wildlife around us, from barn owls and deer to hedgerows full of birdsong. Whether you’re stargazing under world-class dark skies, enjoying a lazy morning coffee with sea views, or heading out on a coastal adventure, Prospect House Farm is designed to help you slow down and feel truly at ease.

Wildlife

The farm is a haven for wildlife. Expect to see deer wandering the woodland edges, barn owls gliding past at dusk, bats dancing in the night sky, foxes crossing the fields, and hedgerows full of birdsong. Each season brings something new — spring bluebells, summer wildflowers, autumn colours, and crisp winter mornings.

Accessibility, Convenience & Sustainability

Parking is close to the cabins, and access paths are simple and straightforward. Our camping fields are level and open, with clear routes for wheelbarrows and trolleys. While not fully accessible, we are transparent and always happy to help guests plan their stay.

We are committed to doing things sustainably wherever possible — from heat pumps that keep our hot tubs warm, to dark sky–compliant lighting, to using locally sourced building materials. As proud members of the Greener Camping Club, a tree is planted for every new member enrolled.
