Royal Fisheries

Royal Fisheries holds firm on its enviable position as being one of the local’s favourite fish and chip shops. Many locals simply refer to it as ‘Fusco’s’, the name of family who own and manage the restaurant and next-door takeaway and have done for over 50 years.

The restaurant is now a firm favourite with tourists who return frequently to ‘eat where the locals eat’ and for excellent reasons… the fish is cooked traditionally and the crinkle cut chips remain extremely popular with many visitors travelling many miles for their crinkle cut favourite. The homemade fishcakes are a family recipe and it is believed that Violet Fusco, who originally started the business in Whitby, personally made over 1 million during her many years working at the shop!
